In terms of Iran UNESCO's World Heritage status, the country ranks tied 11th in the world with 19 designated sites, boasting more cultural sites than Greece, Turkey and Egypt. If this isn't enough, approximately 85% of the sites were only recently approved since 2003. To put this into perspective, there are 49 more sites on Iran's tentative heritage list. Iran has also preserved most of the cultural sites throughout the historical conflicts, this is quite remarkable compared to it's neighboring countries.
These heritage sites range from ancient adobe construction to early Christian architecture, so here's Iran's top 19 cultural sites.
